EHR Training

IMPORTANTE!

Alright, you have seen some of the introductory parts of this internship.

Every job has a tool where it just can't work without it.  Knowing your tools is the foundation  of what you are going to be doing in your internship.  While an EHR is just a tool, it is going to form the platform that all your work will be done on going forward, so the first two weeks of your internship will be spent, among other things, getting to know your EHR.

At the end of the second week, we will be going over this system for you to demonstrate your competency.  If you have used an electronic health records system before, this won't be any more complicated.  If you have never used one before, don't worry.  It is user-specific, so the complexity will be limited only to what you need to have access to.  That makes it fairly straightforward.

You can access the InSync University (LMS) training function in the drop-down on the Dashboard:

I believe in giving people the ability to study for a test, so I am including two videos here.  The first one is our other counselor, Laura, going over the entire process with another intern, and the second one is the competency test I did with this same intern along with a surprise and totally unscripted call from a referral source where she was able to demonstrate this process in real-time.  It was totally crazy timing, but I guess it was meant to happen...so enjoy.

Of course,  always remember that there will be schedules, client information and client lists present in these videos, so these are HIPAA Privacy Protected.  Watch them only when there are no other people in the room who can view these client names.  This same disclaimer will appear on all videos that contain this type of information.  There will be a HIPAA training video especially for this, but for now just do your due diligence to keep private all the information contained in these training videos.
