Her counseling style is person-centered and solution-focused, empowering clients to recognize their own capacity for growth, healing, and purposeful change.
Before transitioning into counseling, Laura spent 13 years as a bookkeeper in Billings, Montana, before deciding to pursue a more meaningful and service-oriented career. Her early experience in criminal justice, including an internship at Pugsley Correctional Facility in Kingsley, Michigan, deepened her understanding of human behavior and the justice system. Following the completion of her master’s degree, she completed her clinical training at Shawono Juvenile Facility in Roscommon and Life’s Work Clinic, where she found her professional home and passion for helping individuals heal and thrive.
A proud resident of Kalkaska since 2013, Laura is the mother of two sons and a devoted animal lover with a lively household of fur and feathered family members. An avid outdoorswoman and fitness enthusiast, she often encourages clients to embrace the healing power of nature and movement as part of their wellness journey.
Laura is also deeply involved in the local veterans’ community. As a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the daughter of retired Army, Air Force, and Marine veterans, she is passionate about supporting service members, veterans, and first responders. She believes that through a strong therapeutic relationship, every individual can discover resilience, purpose, and hope as they work through life’s challenges.
